hello!

I am fibre artist originally from London, Ontario, now studying a BFA at the Alberta University of the Arts.

“Material is a form of memory, and the labours of fibre art have become my way of remembering.

I feel grateful for the many gifts given to me in this life. Everyday I collect materials, experiences, and memories; they carry stories of connection, nature, and womanhood.

I create each work as a practice of gratitude for friends, family, and even strangers; and as a way to repeatedly speak all of my ‘thanks’ towards the places I know as home. Like a photo album or a written diary, every work takes its form within a material collection of my memories—and these daily moments of reminiscing are expressed through dreamlike imagery, quiet colours, and soft textures.

Through sewing on beads, dyeing fabrics, blending pulps, or binding sheets of paper, my grateful words are spoken again, and again, as repetitive and laborious gestures: thank you, thank you, thank you...”
